G. Loomis Salmon Rods Are Designed For A Special Technique Called Mooching. This Style Of Fishing Is Done From A Boat By Slowly Trolling Or Drifting With The Wind Or Tide. Both Methods Are Effective, But Each Requires A Rod That Will Allow The Fish To Chew On The Bait And Pull It Down Without Much Resistance. That’s Why Our Salmon Rods Reature A Soft, Moderate Action. It Lets The Rod Bend Easily When The Fish First Hits The Bait So He’ll Hang On A Little Longer (at Which Point, You Set The Hook And Hang On A Lot Longer).
